CIT is looking forward to welcoming students to our new flagship Woden campus in 2025.

The ACT Government is investing in a purpose-built CIT campus for Woden. The new campus will stimulate the local economy and support the revitalisation of Woden, providing skills and training opportunities to meet the growing demands of business, industry and the ACT community.

CIT's new Woden campus will be a contemporary, smart and state-of-the-art facility that will deliver education and training to 6,500 students each year at the site of the old bus interchange on Callam Street.

Woden Project Timeline

Construction status - as of April 2024

  • Installation of prefabricated timber - Timber beams, columns and floors will continue to be installed from level 3 up. Prefabricated timber will continue to be delivered on site.
  • Installation of main building facade - Installation of the glazed fa莽ade with terracotta battens will continue on the east side of the main building.
  • Scaffold stripping - Scaffolding will be removed on the lower floors to allow fit-out and facade works to commence.
  • Service installation and fit-outs - Services installation and fit-out work will commence in the basement and on the lower floors.
  • Callam Street piling and footing works - Piling and capping works will continue to prepare Callam Street for the new transport interchange shelters.
  • Pavement build-up of interchange footprint - Callam Street pavement is being built up to form the transport interchange footprint.
  • Installation of in-ground services - Installation of service crossings, in ground services, and light pole footings will continue on Callam Street.

CIT Woden will have a variety of vibrant public spaces to welcome students, staff, commuters, visitors and residents. The external design of the campus is strongly influenced by smooth lines in nature, which includes multiple areas of relaxation, recreation and ease-of-access for those who are using the area. The internal campus design incorporates multi-level learning spaces with large windows to take advantage of natural light and wood features throughout.

  • What is planned for the CIT Woden campus?
    • CIT's new 22,500尘虏 Woden campus will be a contemporary, flexible, smart and sustainable facility for 6,500 students each year. A range of courses will be delivered at CIT Woden, focusing on skills in demand now and for the future. Preparing students for roles in business, cyber security, IT, creative industries, English language, hairdressing, hospitality, media, music, and much more!

      The new campus in Woden will strengthen CIT's existing campuses in Fyshwick, Bruce, Gungahlin and Tuggeranong. CIT Woden will open up a range of new collaboration opportunities for CIT students, with local businesses, industry and the broader community.

  • How long will the CIT Woden Campus redevelopment take?
    • Redevelopment works commenced in 2023. CIT is on track to transition to Woden from 2025.
  • What does this mean for CIT Students studying at CIT Reid?
    • The location of CIT courses delivered from CIT Reid campus will move to the new CIT Woden campus from Semester 2, 2025. CIT will provide incoming and current CIT Reid students with more detailed information and support on the timing of the planned relocation of courses to the new campus to assist students with the transition to CIT Woden.

  • What is the Woden Youth Foyer?
    • The will be an adjoining support facility for young people (aged 16-24 years) who are committed to education and training but are at risk of homelessness. It will provide young people with stable accommodation, support services and opportunities to pursue education and training in the one location. It will include up to 20 independent living bedroom units, communal living spaces and private external green spaces.
