CIT Fit & Well Fitness Centre

The CIT Fit & Well Fitness Centre is an authentic learning environment for health and fitness students.

The fitness centre is also a modern gym open to the public, which offers a large range of exercise machines and equipment set in our spacious naturally lit gym and exercise studio.

The centre is a friendly, safe, and supportive environment. As a member, you'll have access to:

  • group fitness classes
  • pin loaded machines and free weights
  • functional training and power training area
  • cardio equipment fitness assessments and programs
  • free parking, and
  • highly qualified staff.

Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm
Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 8am to 5pm

Health and Safety

  • Group fitness classes

    The class programming limits member interaction and equipment sharing. Please adhere to physical distancing guidelines by following the floor markings in the centre.

    • - If you can't attend your booked session, please contact us as soon as you can so we can contact members on the reserve list.
    • - We've capped group exercise classes to maintain appropriate physical distancing and safety.
    • - Class times are spaced to allow time for cleaning.
    • - Please don't congregate around the entry when you arrive or leave the centre.
  • Safety

    If you have been in contact with a suspected COVID-19 case or you are feeling unwell, we expect you to stay home and to notify us of your cancellation.

    • - Please be respectful to team members who are enforcing procedures.
    • - Wearing a mask is your choice but is not mandatory.
    • - Our strict 'no towel, no train' policy is in place.
    • - Always use a towel on equipment and wipe down equipment with the supplied medical grade disinfectant wipes.
    • - Bring your own water bottle with water.
  • Medical clearance

    Please remember medical clearances are valid for 12 months.

  • CIT Fit & Well - entry and exit

    Always swipe your membership card upon entry. This will mean we have accurate attendance records and can trace member visits.

    On arrival, please avoid congregating around the entry.

      - Exit through the glass sliding door in A block
    • Sports Hall
      - Enter through the glass sliding door in H block
      - Exit through the indicated signed side exit door in the sports hall

Joining is easy! Download our Membership Form (PDF 276Kb) and Pre-Screening Form (PDF 533Kb), fill in your details and email the completed forms to FitandWell@cit.edu.au, or call (02) 6207 4309 to discuss your membership options with our friendly staff!

Corporate groups are welcome to join with concessions applying for groups of 15 or more.

CIT Fit & Well Services

Throughout the year Certificate 3 and 4 Fitness students are required to complete assessment items and members are called upon to help in this process.

  • Posture and Movement Screen
    • Student led Posture and Movement Screens is designed for individuals over 55 years of age who wish to be guided through industry posture screen and movement exercise and then given corrective activities to help improve posture and movement.
  • Active Ageing Program
    • The CIT Student Personal Training Active Ageing Program is designed for individuals over 55 years of age that are looking to improve their health, fitness, balance, and coordination.

      The program includes:
      - 1x Health Screening and Fitness Assessment
      - 1x Individualised exercise program
      - 2x Personal Training sessions (Between 30-45 minutes each)
      - 1x Evaluation
  • Fitness Assessment
    • Students will conduct an industry standard fitness assessment which will involve measurements in the following areas:

      - Medical Screening and Lifestyle Questionnaire
      - Cardiovascular Health (resting heart rate and blood pressure, height, weight and BMI)
      - Girth measurements
      - Aerobic power
      - Muscle endurance, Flexibility and Strength
  • Student Personal Training Program (Terms 2 and 4)
    • - Client signing up has no existing health conditions.
      - Client has valid current membership (minimum 3 months) and
      - Client is required to pay PT fee once working relationship commences e.g., on the day of or before initial assessment.
      - Client required to commit 6 weeks (2 sessions per week)
      - Client to complete 12 sessions with student (2 x assessments and 10 exercise sessions)
    • Student PT (12 sessions) $55
      - Mornings: 7am-9am (Tues - Thurs)
      - Afternoons: 12pm-2pm (Mon - Thurs)
      - Evenings: 5:30pm-8pm (Mon - Thurs)
      (Days and Times may vary from term to term)
  • CIT Student MASSAGE Clinic
    • Need a boost in health and vitality?

      Massage provides relief from pain, muscular tension, postural problems as well as relaxation.

      The CIT Fit and Well Student Massage Clinic is an authentic learning environment where students are developing massage skills and techniques learnt in class under the supervision of qualified practitioners and teachers.

      Sessions will include a thorough assessment used to determine what techniques are best suited to the presenting condition.

      The 60-minute massage appointment includes a 10 to 15-minute postural assessment and 45 to 50 minutes of massage.

CIT Fit & Well is situated in A Block at CIT Bruce.  As you come off Hayden Drive onto Purdie Street, follow it around to and park in parking bays 8,9 or 10 at the top of the hill. Walk across the road (Purdie Street), follow the path which leads you in-between J and B Block into the open courtyard between B and C Block, follow the path past B Block straight ahead to sliding doors into A Block and then turn left to CIT Fit & Well.
